Many commentators (including the Unites States District Court in Brooklyn) have completely misread the actual text of the Cabaret Law, conflating the 1926 law with events and changes made decades later. The text is not available on research sites such as Lexis and West Law, and none of the private and corporation counsel lawyers, judges, city counsel members, or law clerks bothered to read the text as is available from the Archives of the City of New York.
